Priest (1994): Father Greg Pilkington Is Torn Between His Call As A Conservative Catholic Priest And His Secret Life As A Homosexual With A Gay Lover, Frowned Upon By The Church. Upon Hearing The Confession Of A Young Girl, Lisa, That She Is Being Sexually Abused By Her Incestuous Father, Greg Enters An Intensely Emotional Spiritual Struggle Deciding Between Choosing Morals Over Religion And One Life Over Another.
End Scene: Father Matthew Convinces Him To Return To St. Mary's, And The Two Preside Over A Mass That Is Disrupted By The Loud Protests Of Those Opposed To Father Greg's Presence On The Altar. Father Matthew Demands They Leave The Chapel. The Two Priests Then Begin To Distribute The Eucharist, But The Remaining Parishioners Ignore Father Greg And Line Up To Receive Communion From Father Matthew. Lisa Finally Approaches Greg, And The Two Fall Into Each Other's Arms Sobbing.
